Video to MP3 converter

Save the soundtrack of a video as an MP3: a lecture, an interview, a song from your own clip or a voice message recorded as video. The video stays on your device.

Private: works in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Video to MP3 tool

  1. Choose one or more video files (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV).
  2. Pick MP3 quality, or WAV for lossless audio.
  3. Click “Convert to MP3”.
  4. Listen to the result and download it, or all files as a ZIP.

Supported videos

Any video your browser can play works: MP4 and MOV from phones and cameras (AAC audio), WebM from screen recorders, and MKV in Chrome and Edge. Files recorded on iPhone, Android, Zoom, OBS and most messengers are supported. Very old formats such as AVI or WMV may not be readable by the browser; convert them to MP4 first.

Which MP3 quality should I choose?

  • 96 kbps: speech, podcasts and voice notes. Smallest files.
  • 128 kbps: good quality for music on a phone, about 1 MB per minute.
  • 192 kbps: high quality, the best default for music.
  • 320 kbps: the highest MP3 quality, about 2.4 MB per minute.

A higher bitrate cannot add quality that the source does not have. Converting a 128 kbps file to 320 kbps only makes it bigger.

Use it fairly

Extract audio from videos you recorded yourself or have the right to use, such as your own recordings, lectures shared with you, or free content. This tool does not download videos from YouTube or other sites.

Privacy

Everything runs in your browser: the audio is decoded by your browser and encoded on your device. Your files are never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How long can the video be?

Files up to about 1 GB work on a computer. Long videos need memory to decode, so a phone may handle less. A one-hour video usually converts in under a minute.

Does it keep stereo sound?

Yes. Stereo is kept by default. Choose mono to make the file half the size, for example for speech.

Can I convert several videos at once?

Yes. Choose them together, then download each MP3 or one ZIP file.

Can I cut only part of the audio?

Convert it first, then open the MP3 in Audio Cutter to keep only the part you need.
