Text cases explained
- UPPER CASE: every letter capital. Good for short labels and warnings.
- lower case: every letter small.
- Title Case: main words capitalized, small words like “and” and “of” kept lower case. Used for headlines and book titles.
- Sentence case: only the first letter of each sentence capitalized. The most readable style for long text and many modern headlines.
- aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERT: playful styles for memes and social media.
Cases for developers
- camelCase: variables in JavaScript and Java, for example userName.
- PascalCase: class and component names, for example UserProfile.
- snake_case: Python variables and database columns, for example user_name.
- kebab-case: URLs, CSS classes and file names, for example user-name.
- CONSTANT_CASE: constants and environment variables, for example API_KEY.
The converter splits words on spaces, punctuation and existing capital letters, so “userName”, “user name” and “user_name” all convert cleanly into each other.

Frequently asked questions
How do I undo Caps Lock text?
Click “Sentence case”. It lowers everything and capitalizes the first letter of each sentence.
Does Title Case follow AP or Chicago style?
It follows the common rule shared by most styles: small words like a, an, the, and, of and to stay lower case unless they start the title.
Does it work with accented letters?
Yes. Letters like é, ü and ñ are converted correctly.
Can I convert a list of variable names?
Yes, but each line is treated as words of one text. Convert one name at a time for exact results.
