Why convert JPG to PNG?
PNG is a lossless format: once your image is a PNG, you can edit and save it again and again without adding new compression artifacts. Designers convert to PNG before adding text, cutting out a background or combining images in a layout.
Some upload forms, print services and design tools accept only PNG. Converting takes a second and keeps the image exactly as it looks now.
Will the file be bigger?
Usually yes. PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, so a photo can become two to five times larger. That is normal. If you need a small file for the web, keep JPG or use WebP.
Converting does not add transparency automatically: the background stays as it is in the photo.
Privacy
Images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. It keeps the current quality and prevents further loss, but it cannot restore detail that JPG compression removed.
Can I make the background transparent?
Not with this tool. Converting only changes the format.
Is there a limit on files?
No fixed limit. Convert as many images as your device can handle.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in any modern mobile browser.
