SVG minifier

Remove the clutter that design tools leave in SVG files and make icons and illustrations load faster. The image looks the same, the file gets smaller.

Private: works in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to use the SVG Minifier tool

  1. Paste SVG code or open an .svg file.
  2. Adjust options such as decimal precision if needed.
  3. Click “Minify SVG” and compare the before and after previews.
  4. Copy the code or download the optimized file.

What gets removed

  • Editor data from Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Sketch and Figma.
  • Comments, metadata, empty groups and hidden elements.
  • Unneeded precision, such as 12.000001 becoming 12.
  • Redundant attributes and default values; paths are rewritten in a shorter form.

Safe defaults

The viewBox is kept so the SVG still scales correctly in CSS, and you can keep the <title> element for accessibility. If your code references element IDs from CSS or JavaScript, keep the “Keep IDs” option on. The optimizer is SVGO, the same tool used by most build systems.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller do files get?

SVGs exported from design tools usually shrink by 20 to 70 percent.

Will my SVG look different?

It should look identical. Check the preview. If small details shift, increase the number precision.

Can I use the result inline in HTML?

Yes. Copy the optimized code and paste it straight into your page, or save it as an .svg file.

Is the SVG checked for scripts?

The tool optimizes code but is not a security sanitizer. Do not trust SVGs from unknown sources on your site without sanitizing them.
