Audio converter

Turn almost any audio or video file into an MP3 that plays everywhere, or into a lossless WAV for editing. Convert many files in one go.

Private: works in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Audio Converter tool

  1. Choose one or more audio or video files.
  2. Pick MP3 or WAV, the quality and stereo or mono.
  3. Click “Convert”.
  4. Download the files one by one or as a ZIP.

Input formats

  • MP3, WAV, AIFF
  • M4A and AAC (iPhone voice memos, iTunes)
  • OGG Vorbis and Opus (Telegram and WhatsApp voice messages, Discord)
  • FLAC (lossless music)
  • WebM, MP4, MOV and other videos

The tool uses the audio decoder built into your browser. Chrome and Edge support the most formats; Safari supports M4A, AAC, MP3, WAV and FLAC; Firefox supports OGG, Opus, FLAC, MP3 and WAV.

MP3 or WAV?

MP3 is small and plays on every device, car and app. WAV is uncompressed: about 10 MB per minute, but without any quality loss, which is useful for editing in a DAW or sending to a studio.

Which MP3 quality should I choose?

  • 96 kbps: speech, podcasts and voice notes. Smallest files.
  • 128 kbps: good quality for music on a phone, about 1 MB per minute.
  • 192 kbps: high quality, the best default for music.
  • 320 kbps: the highest MP3 quality, about 2.4 MB per minute.

A higher bitrate cannot add quality that the source does not have. Converting a 128 kbps file to 320 kbps only makes it bigger.

Everything runs in your browser: the audio is decoded by your browser and encoded on your device. Your files are never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a WhatsApp or Telegram voice message?

Yes. Voice messages are usually Opus or OGG files. Save them to your device and open them here.

Why does my file fail to convert?

Your browser does not support that codec. Try Chrome or Edge, which support the widest range of formats.

Is there a limit on the number of files?

No fixed limit. Files are converted one after another on your device.

Can I convert to M4A or OGG?

The output formats are MP3 and WAV, which work everywhere. Encoding AAC or Opus in the browser is not yet reliable across devices.
