Why merge PDF files?
Sending one tidy document is easier than attaching five separate files. People merge PDFs to put together job applications (CV, cover letter and certificates), to combine scanned pages into one contract, to bundle monthly invoices for an accountant, or to join chapters of a report before printing.
A single file is also easier to archive, sign and search later. Most email services limit the number of attachments, and many online forms accept only one upload, so merging is often the only way to submit everything at once.
What happens to quality, links and bookmarks?
Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. Nothing is converted or compressed. Page sizes and orientation are preserved, which means you can safely combine an A4 report with a US Letter appendix or a landscape spreadsheet.
Form fields and internal links of each document are kept on their pages. Bookmarks (the outline panel) of the original files are not combined into one outline, because every PDF builds its outline differently.
Is it safe to merge confidential documents here?
Yes. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDFs are read from your disk into memory, merged on your device and offered back as a download. They are not uploaded to our server or anyone else’s, which makes the tool suitable for contracts, medical records and other private files.
Frequently asked questions
How many PDF files can I merge at once?
There is no fixed limit. The practical limit is your device’s memory: merging a few hundred pages is quick on any modern computer or phone.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Open the file with its password and save a copy without protection first, then merge it.
Will the merged PDF have a watermark?
No. The output contains only your pages, with no watermark or added pages.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The tool works in Safari, Chrome and other modern mobile browsers. On a phone, choose the files from the Files app or your downloads.
