How to use the CSV to JSON Converter tool
- Paste CSV, or copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets (tab-separated).
- Check the delimiter and header options.
- Copy or download the JSON.
Handling real-world CSV
CSV looks simple until you meet a real export. The parser follows RFC 4180: fields with commas, quotes or line breaks inside double quotes are read correctly, and doubled quotes ("") become a single quote. The delimiter is detected automatically, which matters because Excel in many European locales saves CSV with semicolons, and data copied straight from a spreadsheet is tab-separated.
Types
With type conversion on, numbers become JSON numbers, true and false become booleans and empty cells become null. Turn it off when you have values like ZIP codes, phone numbers or IDs with leading zeros (00123), which must stay text. Very long numbers are always kept as text to avoid losing precision.
Privacy
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our server or stored.
