How to use the PDF to JPG tool

  1. Choose a PDF file.
  2. Select JPG or PNG and the image quality (DPI).
  3. Optionally enter the pages to convert, for example 1-3.
  4. Click “Convert to images” and download the pictures.

Which quality should I choose?

DPI (dots per inch) decides how many pixels each page gets:

  • Screen, 96 DPI: small files for web pages, chats and previews.
  • Standard, 150 DPI: sharp on any screen and fine for documents. A good default.
  • Print, 300 DPI: large, detailed images for printing or zooming into small text.

Choose PNG for pages with lots of text and sharp lines, such as diagrams and spreadsheets. JPG makes smaller files and is better for pages with photos.

Common uses

People convert PDFs to images to post a page on social media, insert it into a presentation or a Word document, send a quick preview in a messenger, or upload a document to a site that accepts only images. Designers also use it to extract a single page of a brochure as a picture.

Privacy

Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to a server. Pages are rendered by the same engine that Firefox uses to display PDFs, running locally in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert only one page?

Yes. Type the page number in the “Pages” field, for example 5.

Why is my image so large?

High DPI means more pixels. Choose 150 DPI or JPG format for smaller files.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes. Scanned pages are already images, so they convert especially well.

Is the text in the image editable?

No. An image is a picture of the page. To edit text, you need the original document or OCR software.
