Everything runs in your browser. Your files and text are not uploaded to our server or stored anywhere. The preview is shown in a sandbox, so scripts inside the HTML do not run.
Frequently asked questions
Is the HTML safe to put on my website?
Markdown can contain raw HTML, which is passed through. If the Markdown comes from untrusted users, sanitize the HTML before publishing.
Does it add CSS?
No. You get clean HTML without styles, so it inherits the styles of your site.
What does “line breaks as br” do?
A single line break in the text becomes a line break in HTML, like in GitHub comments. By default, it is joined into the same paragraph.
Can I convert back?
Yes, with the HTML to Markdown converter.
