JSON to CSV converter

Paste a JSON array to get a CSV file with one row per object and one column per field, ready for Excel or Google Sheets.

Private: works in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How to use the JSON to CSV Converter tool

  1. Paste a JSON array of objects, for example an API response.
  2. Choose the delimiter (semicolon for Excel in many European locales).
  3. Copy the CSV or download it as a file.

How nested data is handled

Spreadsheets are flat, JSON is not. Nested objects are flattened with dot notation, so {"address": {"city": "Berlin"}} becomes a column named address.city. Arrays are written as JSON text in a single cell. Columns are the union of all keys, so objects with missing fields simply get empty cells.

Opening the file in Excel

  • The downloaded file includes a UTF-8 byte order mark, so Excel shows accented letters and non-Latin scripts correctly.
  • If all data lands in one column, your Excel expects a different delimiter. Choose semicolon and download again.
  • For large exports, Data → From Text/CSV in Excel lets you set column types and avoids it converting IDs into numbers or dates.
